    New to Forum Introduction

    Hello

I recently joined up and new to Mk1 Cortina's but not new to cars, I have been playing with escorts(cars) for over 25 years and falcons also. I always wanted a Mk1 Cortina since I was 18 and a friend had a nice one, I am now into my 40's(oh god) and thought these cars were long gone but last year I went on quest for one, a 1962 consul deluxe, ever since then I have been finding one car after another, originally I had in mind to buy one good one around 5k but I could not find one in Adelaide so I brought 3 cars that needed restoration. Today about 12 months on I have 6 MK1 Cortinas, 4 are viable cars and the other two are for spares. I am considering selling the pre airflow ones but undecided.

    my 6 Cortina mk1's are:

    1962 consul deluxe 4 door(bar speedo import)
    1963 consul deluxe 4 door(oval twin gauge)
1965 Cortina 2 door fleet( ironbar) police cars?
1966 Cortina 4 door Wreck (spares)
    1967 Cortina 4 door
    1967 Cortina 4 door Caged Mini-Tubed

Some I have plans for the road and some I have plans for the track, I already have some pretty wild escorts.
The last car on the list I have plans to make race car, Hence my name 289 Cortina, I already have the motor but no idea if I will stick to the 289ci or stroke it. I already have a 5lt escort hillclimb car. I am not into drags so it will be a circuit car with 16x10 wheels etc.

I have many plans which may include a couple of escort rack conversions, I also have a few nice zetec motors. I think I will end up with plenty of spares and eventually sell a few, I know I have a mountain of mk1 glass.

There are parts I am already seeking like panels, rust repair sections and oh yes Sill panels, maybe a remote shifter and maybe capri parts for conversions?.

I hope to post up more pictures as time comes and I crack onto things, it would be good to catch up to any Adelaide Cortina fans, Does anybody know of that barrossa wrecker guy? dudleys?

My two pre airflows are on gumtree now, priced not to sell.

    thanks

    Hi Brett,

Welcome to the forum, you will almost find all parts and assistance from the helpful guys here on the forum.

I am also an Adelaide guy and have been out to Dudley's property several times. Pm me for details of his address and Ph number as he does not like it advertised on the Web at all.

I have three GTs up in the Hills.

    Jamie
