Thumbs up First Time Cortina Owner - My 63 Mk1

Hi al,l thought I would introduce myself seeing as I will be using your valuable resources that are your brains over the next coming months, as I finish off my latest acquisition a 63 Mk1.

Purchased her about a month ago after noticing it on eBay, since being to the Goodwood revival a few times when I was in my teens I?ve been hooked on them ever since.

This is what I know about her so far. Started life as consul 1500 but now houses a 1600 escort block with twin 45mm webers. The previous owner wanted it to be "tough" so it?s fitted with disc brakes, coil over suspension, skyline diff & a 4spd falcon gearbox. I?m going to be using the car on a regular basis so this set-up suits me perfectly.

Here?s how she looks of current, had to get the suspension wound up to give me the clearance for licencing here in W.A but once thats over then will be lowered once more.

Have a few things planned for it in the future, first of which will be replacing the seats with classic buckets. I value your opinions so please feel free to comment, and any ideas you have, throw them my way. Im aiming to get that original "racing revival look" to give you an idea of what im after.

Hi Tin Tin, I saw your car just before the owner shipped it to you, wish I had it. Looks a really nice neat car. I purchased to old wheels he had on it before he went to superlights.
As for racing revival.....Id go for wide stripes from front, over the roof and right to back :-)
    Cheers
    David

Hi Tin Tin, cool car! If I ever get my Cortina from Narrogin to Perth for a dyno tune, I'll call in to the bike shop there and say g'day (I also ride a modded Aprilia Falco). Can't be certain, but keen on a run to York on sunday for the car show in the town centre; bring your car?

G'day Tin Tin, tomorrow, run by the Veteran car club WA. Sounds like they have sent invites to various other clubs for a range of cars to attend. Very unlikely I can get there now, see you around in the future!
