I am particularly interested in getting some feedback on how well the conversion works from people that have actually done and driven with it. Not interested in heresay, but actual experience. I can get heresay from other forums... :(

from memory it runs AU falcon rotors
and commodore calipers
the above is the basic kit
no cross drilling or slotted rotors

Custom hubs and falcon bearings so yeah, AU rotors I think. Are the PBR calipers comon to falcons as well as Commondoors? I really wish someone on one of the forums was actually running a Hoppers kit. They have been out for a while now but I have failed to get any 'driving' feedback.

wonder if the kit increses the track width and causes wheel offset issues....

they remake the complete hub to suit factory dimensions
this is how engineers like the kit

Geoffry, you seem to have missed the point. I want some REAL feedback as to how they stop with this kit. Not just advertisment from the people that sell them. I couldn't see any data up on the website but perhaps I wasn't looking hard enough...? It seems that not one person out in Mk1 Cortina land (on the internets anyway) is actually driving their car with this kit at the moment. I know you have done a conversion but did you drive the car or have you had any feedback from the customer? New bearing do come with the kit correct? What are they from? I didn't think it was from a Cortina.

al the black mk1 with the v6
comm ,engine and borbet rims
(its been at small ford days)
has a hoppers kit. think he still
works at hoppers, as for the
bearings ,dont remember the numbers
but they fit the cortina stubs and
new hubs fine ,they come in the kit
with seals ect ect:)

Oh, okay, so SOMEONE is running them! Good. I can't see any reason they wouldn't work really well but someone on another forum was bagging them. Can't get a reason that isn't to do with some BS conspiracy theory though... :( I thought they were some oddball Falcon bearing but now I think about it there is no reason that standard Cortina bearings wouldn't work perfect if the hub is made to Cortina specs.

OK - so now that is covered (and sorry for the thread dredge) - what about THESE (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-CORTINA-MK1-MK2-RS2000-BIG-BRAKE-KIT-296-MM_W0QQitemZ380004700066QQihZ025QQcategoryZ6763QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) kits which are available? He states that the lines supplied are ADR 7/00 stamped, but no other information really as to the legality or engineering capacity on the rest of the kit.
Anyone actually running them? Tossing up between these and the Hoppers Kit. They kinda look like PBR, but do not seem to be stamped.
Cheers, Dave.

thanks jewles..... $1250, do you think the kit is worth it? i want to do the rear.
are there any major things you have to bypass, or just bolt on.
jewels

well they are all new and engineered
just a straight 'bolt on'
i spose depends on what brakes you are going to need to judge whether they are worth it
