thinking of doing this conversion?
here is some info that may be of help
It shares the similar changes to the SR20 so some things are the same only
a ca18 is a smaller engine in length and overall size so it fits very nicely
engine bay wise usually removal of battery tray, original engine mount
towers
so that you can start the making of new mounts
sump does not need any changes what so ever ! as you will see the sump
bulge is at the front like a normal 1500 etc
its fits nicely into a mk1 engine bay and no mods needed to firewall and has
good clearance and access to master cylinders and factory heater outlets
the main area of changes as is with all mk1 conversions is the gearbox
tunnel size. Factory mk1 gearbox is quiet small and narrow and work needs
to be done here to accommodate the larger nissan 5 speed gearbox and
new gearshift outlet.
tail shaft like all conversions will need to be made to suit yoke and length.
more info on this conversion and others can be found HERE on our
