Hi all, how big (dimensions) are the Ford badges that are on the lower
front guards (behind the front wheel). ?
Are these badges rectangle shaped or oval ? (I know the blue bit is oval) :)
Thanks Mark. 8)

The Oval one is 90 x 25
Rect one 70 x 20
There is one of each on either side on the Rally car so not sure which is original but I think the rectangular one is for the MK1

Hey Phil, is it possible that they only have 1 badge, & it's on the left hand side (passenger side)
Thanks,
Mark

Mate you may have opened a can of worms here
If you look at Pommy Jims car there is a only a round badge to the passenger side
I looked at the MK2 (donor car at work) it has 2 round badges and I think that car is also original
Over to the rest of you ??????

I have a few Mk2's and they all have one oval/round on the left only. I think that mk1's are ment to only have one on the left, but its rectangle.
From pictures that I have seen, the left hand drive cars are the same with a badge on the passenger side (the right hand side).

When my car was original , 65 mk1 airflow ,automatic deluxe, only had one rectangular on the lower passengers side as well.

My understanding is on mk1s the rectangle badge is used on pre-airflow cars and the oval one on airflow cars. There should only be one badge on the passenger side (which will vary depending if the car is LHD or RHD)

So what is the wash-up on it all ? A 1965 airflow model should have an oval badge on the left hand side (passenger side) ?
Thanks guys,
Mark.

Hi All
Mk1 Cortina's in Europe had rectangular 'FORD' badge on left front guard only unless it was Left hand drive then it was switched to the
right hand guard.
Mk2 Cortina's had the Oval 'FORD' badge fitted. The details are the same as the MK1 depending on LHD or RHD.
If i remember right this was discontinued on the MK2 Cortina around October 1969. In 1971 the badging changed with the introduction of the MK3 Cortina's.:)

Woops! Made a new panel section on the driver's side guard and added a rectangular badge; never even thought to check, well done Marky.
