Hi guys.

Maybe some of you have had to install a fuel tank or two in your time. I am just about to get mine back into the car.

When I took it out - it appeared that there was some a sticky sort of sealant in between it and the body (now all gone courtesy of my friend the wire wheel :))

Does anyone know what this sealant is, if it is required when re-installing the tank, or any other suggestions as to what I can use?

All of the original lugs have been either broken or removed by me in taking the tank out, so are to be replaced by a myriad of allen bolts/washers/nylock nuts.

Cheers, Dave.

Thanks mate.

Is it recommended to put anything more down other than the sealer? I was thinking of a few things (mainly from the 3M catalogue), but they would hold water, and no doubt over time rust also.

Dave.
