Would say it's been built into an Aussie cortina shell, with it having the heavy duty stiffeners between the bulkhead and inner wings, not normally found on an original lotus cortina shell, even though the F.I.A. allows their use on competition cars. Does not have the factory A frame stiffeners present in the boot either.
Not that these things really matter on a competition car, as you are paying for spec and ability to achieve results, rather than originality.

Yeah, but if you are paying the large Id prefer the original shell, theres a couple of things I dont like 1: signatures on cars....fu%^&g hate it, 2 the diff looks like a boat anchor, surely it could be strengthened without looking like that! Its also interesting to say that it was completely restored with no mention of a reshell? little misleading?

Tommy,

Having seen a LHD Airflow Lotus here in Aus , with out stifferning braces ,when did they remove them from this Model ?

Lotus cortina shell did not have the stiffening braces as standard. There is not a heavy duty lotus body listed in the parts books, unlike the other cortina models.

As to why it's not being listed as a re-shell, A former owner of the car who is known to be quite full of shit has probably duped the current owner into believing its ridgey didge............

Sorry I think I misunderstood your question redbrowed, if you meant the A frame stiffening tubes in the boot and rear quarters, then a l.h.d. car would not have them, as l.h.d. only came as leaf spring. Leaf spring cars came out mid 65 in both l.h.d. and r.h.d. and do not have the A frame stiffening. There are no l.h.d. until mid 65.

I looked at this car when Max was selling it. Max was very open about it not being a genuine lotus cortina. So not sure how many hands it has passed through since Max sold it. Looks like fun though :-)
