Mk1 V8 Cortina project USA

After much soul searching I have decided to sell my Mk1 Cortina. I bought this car 6 years ago drove it for a few years then I thought I needed more power and the V8 swap started. Time and money have never been on my side and I now feel it will never be finished.
This is what I'm selling: 1966 Ford Cortina 2-door - started life as 1500 Deluxe automatic. Body is nearly rust free, one small rust spot in the spare tirewell. Be warned thre isn't a straight panel on it lots of dings and minor dents, mostly original paint, floors are excellent. For the swap the firewall, transmission tunnel and much for the front floor was cut out, the engine and trans were fit, mounts were fabbed and new metal welded in (the hard work is done:thumbs). The interior is gutted, no carpet, no headliner, no door cards, I think you get the idea! The front seats are from a "new" Mini the rear is stock.

Motor - 1987 Ford 5.0 liter. I bought it used aprox 90k miles on it, I've never heard it run. Complete with EFI . The oilpan is a used Canton or Moroso piece. The headers are tri-ys for an early Mustang.

Transmission - 1985 World class T-5 from a Mustang. I bought it used, guy said it was good! Quicktime steel bellhousing.

Rearend - The stock one is still in it. I have an 8inch from a MustangII with an extra short side axle.

Front suspension - Ground Control coilovers, Superflex bushings, stock brakes:yikes!

I'm asking $3500 as it sits. I'm open to offers and I have many other parts (mostly 5liter stuff) that I'm wiliing to sell separately.

This is a good deal for anyone considering a V8 Cortina project. I saw this bodyshell (and nearly bought it) before it left California, and I can attest to everything Ron says....very original, very solid, just some bumps and bruises. If I didn't already have too many cars, I'd buy this package, and bring it back to California, where it belongs :stir

Not sure what the :yikes face is all about on the stock brakes. Ron and I had a long phone conversation about this one night, and the stock brakes have been fine on my car for the last 16 years.....even on the race track.

Where did you get the GC coilovers? Some DIY kit for another type of car you made work with the Cortina struts? I'm curious as I toyed with this with my project and have gone with just standard struts and chopped springs (for now) until the project gets on the road and is running and then I save up the dough for improvements to.

Sorry about the sale! I'd be interested if I didn't already have my GT project!

Bryan, I got the coilovers from GC. They made me jump through a bunch of hoops but we worked it out in the end.
