Steering wheelīs not on the wrong side, it is on the left side...

A matter a fact is that I think it is a little to low in the back and a little to high in the front. Talking a few cm here, prob not possible to see after it have been modified, yaa, maybe.
There is no contact between tires and arches/wheelhouses, but I get wind drag from the rear vallance lifting the car. It gets a bit nervous in high speeds, in the rear end. Front end is good at high speeds, but I need more camber for the corners. Mods will be carried out during the winter ie NOW!

Thanks!

I have a RHD Lotus Cortina to, I just wait until that one is finished and how many lampposts I will scrape...

I have the advantage of driving RHD cars in my work so I have practiced some during the years. But going fast in a track is not the first I will do in a RHD car...

I still can't believe you let me drive those LHD Cosworths Bertil!! Very challenging driving on the opposite side of the car to what you are used to... :) Roundabouts in particular.

Would you have prefered the Transit with the trailer behind?

I noticed at once you are a calm and serious fellow, so whatīs the risk?

Talking of that day, my arm is still not what is was, but itīs gettin better.

Me, calm and serious!?! Hahaha, got you fooled!

Might be time for a visit to the physio Bertil? If it's not better by now. For all those that don't know, I backed over his arm in a Sierra... :) See, not so serious now am I!

Hey, just out of interest, what LSD do you have fitted to the track car? Retains the Cortina axle but with an LSD right.

Well, you seemed like a nice chap, and the house did not go away during the first 24 hours, so I thought it was cool to let you behind a Cossie wheel and go for a nice and calm drive (with 400 bhp under the bonnet).
Next time I will put you in the henhouse and only allow you to walk!

The arm is better, I did speak to a physiowhateverguy and he said only thing to do is wait for it to get well.

The LSD is and old fashion one with pads, not a viscous one. It is in a Cortina MkI axle, ratio is 3,9:1.

Well, for what its worth, it won't quite have 400hp, but I will let you loose in the Cortina when you come over. :)

Yes, it was (very) tempting to come screaming past you in at least 2 of those cars but my calm demenor and perfect restraint prevented me from doing anything stupid! Phew!

Tried a 4.1:1 ratio in the track car? Or is Sweden like NZ and only got 3.9:1 diffs?

Sounds great! I will tweak it up a bit when you are busy and then you can wonder why you never can go that fast! ;-)
Is the management system mapable in your car? Maybe an other chip and a set of injectors will do some good (along with a little hole in the hose)?

Swedenīs got both 3,9 and 4,1, the GTīs and the 1600īs have 3,9 and the 1200īs have 4,1. Most common are the 4,1.
I have not tried the 4,1. Since the engine reach the rev limiter set at 7000 in fourth gear easily I think 4,1 will be to low.

The original Nissan engine management systems are quite tuneable but only with fairly specialized software and a dyno... However, after the nightmare that was changing the headgasket and messing with the 1 billion terminals and clips and sensors and whatnot, I have made the decision to go with an aftermarket system and junk all that other crap. Also, this will get rid of the airflow metre as they are a weak point on these things. So no playing for Bertil, unless you wan't to wind the boost up a little... :) I could potentially be making a LOT more power than now with some bigger injectors, a remap and a slightly bigger turbo... But why do that when I can go silly and do a fully forged re-build, aftermarket ECU, really big injectors, even bigger turbo... And I already have half the bits. :)

I was making a terrible assumption that many of the tracks over there would be quite short and thought that the 4.1's might give you a bit more pull out of corners. Are you running a 4 speed still? Time for that 5 speed maybe?
