You may have seen this already, but this is from the cover of "The Complete Cortina Workshop Manual", 1967. Let me know if you want a high definition version.

A couple of my shots of the engine bay in the 63 Bathurst GT from the museum.
Brochure Shots are hard to find in colour.

Hi

Try the P.O.R 15 website, these guys specialise in restoration products including engine enamels and they even list a Ford Green which is very dark near black, might be what your looking for.

Yeah Jewels,
It's an engine enamel.
Here's the link to the web page (http://ppcco.com.au/enamel1.htm)
I rang them direct, a small tin (plenty to do the 1500) was about $70 delivered. :yikes

Hi Jewels - Apparently the Hammerite Dark Green is quite a close match to the Ford engine colour. No sure how suitable it is to be used on an engine though:

i think the way i will go is get paint hand mixed in 2 pak

as i have seen other paints go 'off' way to quickly making it look a little shabby

some just dont seem to like the heat

Hi There. Did you just brush the green on or spray?

The POR15 was sprayed on, but the instructions also say you can brush it on, as long as the brush strokes are all in the same direction.
