Hey guys, first poster here! (hopefully of many)
I'm a bit of a Cortina enthusiast from Tassie, I have an unrestored Mk1 220 and me and my dad are currently doing up a Mk2 440. We also recently purchased a Mk2 GT and thats the car I want some info about.
OK, we bought the GT cheap due to it being a bit rough around the edges and it was fitted with a 2.0L engine and what looks to be a Escort gearbox (it has a cable clutch). The car is painted (badly) in the late 1960's colours, it is canary yellow with the big "GT" stripes, bumper overriders, plastic mirrors etc... Ill try to scrounge some pics. The interior is GT (dash, centre console). It has the GT brakes, with the calipers mounted on the front side of the strut. Curiously there are no Radius arms on the rear suspension but according to a UK Cortina website Ford stopped fitting Radius arms to the late Mk2 GT's!? :S
I mainly wanted to see if we have the real-deal, as there are a few discrepancies in what I thought a GT come with. We have a rebuilt genuine GT 1600 crossflow to go in it and we were going to try to revert it back to original.
Any advice would be great!
