No he is actually really good. It's only him and an apprentice, i live in a small town area, he has been looking but said he is struggling mega.
Good bloke, asked him yesterday to drop round my place one weekend and rewire the dash/engine bay, he said sure why not. so i dont have to trailor it down and blah blah blah,
engine is half way rebuilt so not long on that front.

yeah you can still get the starter motor bushes. i get mine rebuilt all the time lol
on the gold coast i was using a place called Car Sparks last time i had one done. i know its not near you but maybe give them a call for the parts? used to cost me $60 for a starter motor reco but this was 2 years ago since i had the last one done.

yeah thatd be the guys at redcliffe. bit expensive but i guess justified by the fact that no one has parts anymore.

Xena runs a pre engage starter out of a Gemini, it's a very tight fit that requires a bit of case modification to get in and out without lifting the motor but all Hitachi stuff hangs together pretty well and it sure takes the eighteen monthly change of the ring gear out of your life (forever!). If you can spring about $300-350 for it, the gear reduction starter is even better as it punishes your battery lots less too.:thumbs
