Toxic, I personally would like to have a copy of the Ford doco for my records, if it is only a page or two. Any chance of posting on this site please. I tried to get some doco from Ford about 12 years ago when I was buying the MK1 and while they confirmed my year / month and GT codes they claimed...

Yep 619M sorry. I have one of both in stock - and neither will be built straight away but I was thinking if my spare 619 will be good enough I might be able to let go of the 711M for some grocery money.... :(

It could be more about the condition of the specific block for a street engine. 691M would be just fine. 701M also.

Suebutcher, does your car have the column mounted revcounter or is it fitted to the centrestack? i saw a white 4 door GT with centre stack rev counter in Italy some 15 years ago sitting at a dealer south of Turin, very nice car, not 100% sure but I think the interior was blue. I am pretty sure the...

I have couple of parts catalogues not copies, and this is the very first time I hear that Y for example should be december. They used a sequence of 16 letters coding the production month. For european produced cars the month letter was implemnted january 1963, before that they used end of month...

havnt heard of a 619 either or will do but if building from scratch may as well use the 711 as the base cost will be the same for a engine to build from expect to pay 6k for a rebuilt 120hp engine

Common mod to weld a chunk of metal in that spot to stop them flexing. Likely to have been swapped out due to crashes. Can't see any reason you couldn't swap a GT spring in there, as long as it's kept captive at full droop.

Hy gurus, can someone please confirm that for a street car (even a hot one) the 619 engine is just as good of a candidate as the 711m? But if you want to race then the 711M is the 'block of choice'? Cheers, Rob.

Can't shed any light on whether the Corsair was sold here but there was a green one around the corner from me as a kid, definatly a RHD. The old man always used to comment on it when we drove past in his Anglia. The guy also had a Mk3 Cortina bakkie, another oddball on Australian roads. It would've...

For the Mk 1 has anyone added the GT springs into the Standard (non GT) front Struts ? I also discovered that my struts were changed some years ago from the GT to the Std strut. Keen to hear of people's experiences noting that the GT spring is slightly shorter than the Std spring. On one of the...
