The channel from Clark rubber should do I think, right width and height, I had new glass cut, fractionally thicker than the original but no scratches. The only thing the off the shelf doesn't have is the bulge near the latch

Will be almost time for that front door rebuild workshop Al ;) off to Clark Rubber to get some bailey channel to fit the opening glass back in the metal leading edge. Did Gav remove the glass when painting yours? you might have the same issue?

Let me know when you have time, I would very much appreciate the help. I found some plugs for the rear boot too, they are plastic plugs, but seem to fit the Cortina boot badge... http://www.mk1cortina.com/index.php?...emart&Itemid=2

I'm probably going to use MDF, it's pretty close to what was there originally. The original stuff wasn't glued down but I might just tack it down with something so that it stays put but can easily be pulled up if I need to. I'll send you through what photos I have and will take some photos on...

My car had the wood bits. I plan on replacing it, the pieces were all the same width so it shouldn't be that hard. My wiring is out of the car and I labelled every connection plus took a heap of photos, including under the dash. So if you need help with anything let me know as I probably have a...

Yep, the wood bits keep it nice and flat. What could it hurt to squeeze a bit of glass sealer in the floor bungs? Wiring: diagrams are floating around the net, but if you can't find, I can copy. You will have to figure some stuff out though but shouldn't be too hard. Have to drop by and see...

My next challenge will be wiring... Stupidly enough with both cars I failed to label anything. Gotta love a challenge... Lots of little things I'm struggling to find info on, like so the floor plugs need to be sealed or can I just dynamat over them. Someone said one they pulled apart had wood in...

Hi John, can you get some numbers/letters off the body tag? If so, the info on interior paint colours/codes on cortina-mk1.com should give you what you need.

This is excellent Chris, I've just started a blog on my build but seeing as you're a few months ahead, I'll use yours as a 'how to' if I forget how anything goes back together. I decided to ditch all the old insulation that was in my car. The car had a pretty distinctive 'old car' smell that I put...

In a few weeks’ time I am sending the Cortina to the painters. Sometime in her past someone had resprayed the entire interior and exterior from the original colour. I am trying to work out what colour the dash panel should be. I know the dash pad was blue. The car was Silver blue, both inside and...
