Hy gurus, can someone please confirm that for a street car (even a hot one) the 619 engine is just as good of a candidate as the 711m? But if you want to race then the 711M is the 'block of choice'? Cheers, Rob.

Hi gang. As I'm slowly putting my big jigsaw puzzle back together I'm finding gaps in my documenting how stuff fits. I had the original alternator rebuilt but when installing it I have put the rubber connector onto the back, but there's a spare wire (brown) that seems to not go anywhere. Is there...

Hi, New to the Mk1 game, just purchased a 65' Mk1 one 4 door sedan. Getting it ready for a Roadworthy in QLD. The wipers won't park, and found the switch is not original (only single pole). So I need a new switch. But I also need some info on how the dash comes apart. I did get a scientific...

I have a 1967 MK11 1500cc Cortina, can anyone enlighten me regarding the bonnet catch, the grill has the hole above the centre badge but it now has a release inside on the drivers side. The conversion appears to be of a professional manufacture, did Ford ever make this conversion as an update?

Hi, I have a 65' Mk1 440 sedan, and need a couple of bits to finish it off. I realise the dash handbrakes are rare, and I have the spare sitting in the side of the boot, but it's not properly restrained, I see there should be a bracket with two holes that bolts to the floor.

Ok, on a mk1 the clutch master cylinder attaches to clutch hose, which attaches to the slave, which drives the arm, should this be attached to the release bearing? all the literature I find says yes, but mine is not. The release bearing also catches on the shaft. Will this matter? I notice small...

Just met a bloke who tells me he has about 40 mk1 and mk2s in all sorts of condition. Some apparently are just shells (including a GT500) and he hopes to have one of them on the road very shortly. He has been collecting them since the mid 80s. I am going up to his place in the next few weeks so...

I'm looking for an adjustable rear spring shackle to give the Corsair a slight lift at the rear for back road driving. I can't find a shackle lift kit for the Cortina, but there's one available for the Capri. Does the Capri have the same 7/16 inch shackle bolts as the Cortina and Corsair?

It could be more about the condition of the specific block for a street engine. 691M would be just fine. 701M also.

havnt heard of a 619 either or will do but if building from scratch may as well use the 711 as the base cost will be the same for a engine to build from expect to pay 6k for a rebuilt 120hp engine

Dr Danger replied to a thread Wanted GT front struts in Wanted !
Common mod to weld a chunk of metal in that spot to stop them flexing. Likely to have been swapped out due to crashes. Can't see any reason you couldn't swap a GT spring in there, as long as it's kept captive at full droop.
